Two steps ahead and one step back.
Last week I decided it was time to get off my back. I assumed that once the vomiting stopped I'd pop back up and return to life as normal again...but that's far from realistic. I've been in bed for 8 weeks now and my muscles are GONE. My most challenging task is taking a shower, and I'm physically exhausted and sick afterward. I'm trying to build my muscles back slowly without pushing myself too far. Last week I pushed it a little too far and spent the end of the week on the couch full time. But I've made a little progress over the past week. I can now sit up at the desk and type this on the computer instead of using the laptop in bed! I can walk slowly up and down the steps without getting sick. I can even stand long enough to help Nick with the dishes! Best of all, I can help Ethan get dressed and brush his teeth in the morning. :) My doctor even said I could stop taking the Benadryl to ditch the drowsiness.
Mornings are the best but I'm definitely back on the couch in the afternoon with my mouth clenched shut. But I'm thankful for a little releif and a taste of normal life in the morning. I have been able to gain my 7 pounds back and I'm now back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My diet is still very limited and not allowing me to gain more weight but the doctors are not concerned yet. They are hopeful that I'll be feeling better around the 17th week (and I'm 14 1/2 weeks now). I promise to post a belly picture soon. :)
